Documented audit

The simplest, most accessible option for LinkedIn-focused prospecting, with good European coverage and GDPR compliance built in, but free credits run out fast, integrations are one-way, and both a CNIL fine and a very low Trustpilot rating make the privacy and cancellation fine print worth reading before signing up.

Kaspr occupies a very specific niche within B2B sales intelligence: revealing contact data without leaving LinkedIn. This review combines the product’s public documentation with verified user reviews on G2 and Trustpilot, and with the public rulings from France’s CNIL regarding Kaspr’s own data-collection practices — Kaspr has been owned by Cognism since 2022.

What Kaspr is and who it’s for

Kaspr is a B2B prospecting platform founded in 2018 in Paris by Allan Benguigui and Omar Ghorbel, focused almost entirely on LinkedIn as a data source. In April 2022 it was acquired by Cognism, which keeps it as an independent brand and product aimed at small and mid-sized teams, while reserving the Cognism brand (and its Diamond Data) for larger deployments in Europe. It competes with Lusha, RocketReach and UpLead, with a clearly simpler, cheaper positioning focused on a single channel: the LinkedIn profile.

What it’s like to use day to day

The workflow is nearly identical to Lusha’s: install the Chrome extension, visit a LinkedIn, Sales Navigator or Recruiter Lite profile, and Kaspr shows a panel with the available email and phone to reveal, consuming credits from the contracted plan. Revealed data syncs automatically with the connected CRM — HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM and others — and, thanks to built-in GDPR compliance, every contact is tagged with its source via the Kaspr_source field, useful for privacy audits. LinkedIn automation also lets you set up message sequences and triggers based on profile visits, to take the first outreach step without leaving the platform.

GDPR compliance: the differentiating argument in Europe

Kaspr automatically checks contacts against do-not-call lists and documents the origin of each piece of data, a process designed specifically for teams operating under GDPR that need to be able to justify where the contact information they use comes from. It’s an argument it shares with its parent company Cognism, though Kaspr offers it at a much more accessible scale and price for small teams.

Real user reviews

Kaspr holds a rating of 4.4 out of 5 on G2, with more than 750 reviews. Users consistently praise the simplicity of the Chrome extension and data accuracy in the European market. The most repeated complaint is that daily free credits (5 email, 5 phone) run out quickly in any prospecting operation beyond occasional use, and that unlimited access for a whole team can get expensive compared with individual use.

What Trustpilot says: the more critical side, closely mirroring its parent Cognism

Against G2’s 4.4/5, Kaspr holds a Trustpilot rating of 1.5 out of 5 (88 reviews), a pattern very similar to what’s already seen on its parent Cognism’s profile. The most repeated complaints combine three areas: billing (auto-renewal enabled by default and refunds denied even when the service was barely used), support (several users describe getting no response when trying to transfer a license, something Kaspr’s own documentation says is allowed), and — the most sensitive one — privacy: people claiming to have received sales calls on their personal mobile from third parties who say they obtained the data through Kaspr. This last group of complaints isn’t a coincidence: it lines up with facts already confirmed by France’s CNIL (see below) about how Kaspr collected contact data in the past. It’s worth noting honestly that people with a bad experience are more likely to leave a public review than satisfied ones, so these figures likely overrepresent problem cases relative to the overall user base, which is much larger and rates the product considerably better on G2. Even so, as of this review (September 2026), it’s available, verifiable data, particularly relevant if you’ll be billed with auto-renewal or if you’re concerned about how your own contact data was obtained.

The CNIL fine: what happened and what changed afterward

In December 2024, France’s data protection authority (CNIL) fined Kaspr €240,000 after finding that the company collected contact data from LinkedIn profiles even when the user had specifically chosen to restrict their profile’s visibility, that it retained that data for up to five years from the last update, that until 2022 it didn’t inform people that their data had been collected, and that when someone exercised their right of access, Kaspr responded that the data came from “public sources” with no further detail. The CNIL gave Kaspr six months to correct these practices and, after verifying compliance, formally closed the case in March 2026, confirming the company had adjusted its data collection and retention periods. This isn’t an isolated case in the industry — Cognism, its parent, also faces several substantial complaints under investigation by the UK’s ICO — but as a specific, now-resolved sanction against Kaspr itself, it’s a precedent worth knowing before deciding whether to trust your own contact data, or your prospects’, to this platform.

Pricing and plans

Kaspr offers a free plan with 5 email credits and 5 phone credits per day, no credit card required. Paid plans start with Starter ($49/month, 1,200 credits), move up to Business ($79/month, 2,400 credits) and Organization ($99/month, 4,800 credits), with a discount available for annual billing. It’s a notably more accessible pricing structure than its parent Cognism’s, consistent with its positioning toward small and mid-sized teams.

Frequently asked questions

Is Kaspr the same as Cognism? Not exactly. Cognism acquired Kaspr in 2022, but keeps it as an independent product and brand aimed at smaller teams, while Cognism itself focuses on larger deployments with Diamond Data.

Does Kaspr have a free plan? Yes, with 5 email and 5 phone credits per day, no credit card required, though the volume falls short for medium- or high-volume prospecting.

Does Kaspr work outside LinkedIn? Its main use case is LinkedIn and Sales Navigator; unlike RocketReach or Seamless.AI, it isn’t designed as a general contact finder for any web page.

Is Kaspr GDPR compliant? Yes, it checks contacts against do-not-call lists and automatically logs the data source in the connected CRM, something especially valued by teams prospecting in the EU. It’s worth noting that Kaspr itself was fined by the CNIL in 2024 over how it collected LinkedIn data in the past, a case the CNIL closed in March 2026 after confirming the company corrected its practices.

Why is Kaspr’s rating so different on G2 versus Trustpilot? On G2 (4.4/5), reviews focused on the product and daily-use experience predominate; on Trustpilot (1.5/5), complaints about billing, cancellation and privacy predominate, a pattern very similar to its parent Cognism’s. It’s worth reading both before signing up for a paid plan.

Methodology for this review

This analysis is based on Kaspr’s public documentation (official site and pricing page), verified reviews from real users published on G2 and Trustpilot, and public rulings from France’s CNIL, checked in September 2026. It does not replace our own extensive testing with a long-term active account. You can read more about how we work in our editorial methodology.

Best for
  • Sales teams prospecting mainly from LinkedIn and Sales Navigator
  • European organizations that need GDPR compliance built in, with traceability of data origin
  • Individual users or small teams who want to start with a free plan before paying
Not the best fit if
  • Teams with high daily prospecting volume who will quickly exhaust the free credits
  • Anyone who needs bidirectional sync between the CRM and the prospecting tool
  • Operations focused outside LinkedIn, where Kaspr adds less value than broader search tools like RocketReach

Automatic checks against do-not-call lists and logging of the data source (Kaspr_source field) directly in HubSpot and Salesforce.

Nine native integrations: HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, Lemlist, Brevo, Aircall, Ringover and Zapier.

Limitation: One-way integrations (Kaspr to CRM), with no reverse sync or Make/Integromat support.

Shared workspaces with common credits and export logs to coordinate prospecting across a whole team.

Message sequences and triggers based on profile visits to automate part of the initial LinkedIn outreach.

Kaspr continues operating as a self-service tool for individual reps, freelancers and small startups, while Cognism is reserved for mid-sized and large teams that need Diamond Data and more complex deployments; both brands coexist under the same group without merging the product.

After the CNIL's December 2024 fine, Kaspr adjusted its data-collection practices and retention periods; the CNIL itself confirmed the compliance case was closed in March 2026.
